The Full Story
About
For years, I have been dedicated to helping climbers of all skill levels achieve their goals and reach new heights. Whether it's through personalized coaching sessions or group classes, my approach to coaching allows me to work with each client to understand their specific needs and create a customized plan that delivers results.

Who is Kostas?
I was born in Crete, Greece, in 1987. At 16 years old, I fell head over heels in love with climbing. Before long, I was training for climbing competitions, while simultaneously working towards my BSc degree in Sport Science at the University of Athens.
I started sharing my knowledge of—and passion for—climbing as soon as I graduated, having already become certified as a climbing coach by the Greek General Secretariat of Sports.
Working with nearly every climbing gym in Athens, I coached top Greek competition athletes as well as individual climbers of all ages. In recent years, my focus has shifted more towards coaching for outdoor climbing. I am currently based in Leonidio, the best climbing destination in Greece, where I can train for climbing.
In addition to my coaching certifications in Greece, I have also earned my latest diploma from Austria as a Tyrolean Sport Climbing Instructor, certified by the Bergsportführer Association.
My Approach
At the core of my coaching is finding ways to maximize one’s potential (performance) in climbing.
My approach is holistic: I address all aspects (physical, technical, mental) equally. I believe that this is a fundamental way to also develop as a person and connect with nature.
To round out my training and further support this approach, I practiced yoga in Rishikesh, India, where I received my 200-hr hatha yoga teacher certification.

Goal
I am to help my students be entirely present in the outdoors, achieve a state of flow, and connect with their true selves, all through the climbing experience. This requires practice, exploring one’s limits, and having the will to develop as a climber. In this particular moment in time, climbing is also proving to be deeply therapeutic!
Moreover, I am involved in developing new climbing areas around Greece for bouldering and sport climbing. As of 2020, I am also working with the municipality of Leonidio / South Kynouria, the maintenance of climbing crags being one of my responsibilities.
Proudest Achievements
As a sport climbing instructor, some of my proudest achievements include helping climbers progress from beginners to independent athletes, witnessing their personal milestones such as their first lead climb or outdoor route. Earning and maintaining professional certifications, like the Tyrolean Sport Climbing Instructor qualification from the Bergsportführer Association, has been a testament to my commitment to growth and expertise. Organizing and leading successful climbing courses, where students gain the skills to climb safely and confidently, is another highlight. I take great pride in contributing to the climbing community by mentoring athletes, sharing safety practices, and promoting a love for the sport. Teaching the importance of safety and risk management in both indoor and outdoor settings is something I find particularly rewarding. Achieving personal climbing milestones and climbing in challenging locations also helps me inspire my students. Above all, building strong, lasting relationships with climbers who trust me with their journey is a source of immense fulfillment.
